A
resource for victims of negligent truck drivers.
Why
are large truck crashes on the rise?
- Office
of Motor Carriers (OMC) is ignoring recommendations to stiffen
enforcement of truck driving hours restrictions.
-
OMC not issuing federally mandated driver training standards.
-
OMC not assigning safety ratings to all motor carriers as
required.
-
OMC contracting with the trucking industry to conduct research
for regulatory purposes.
-
OMC delaying the issuance of truck visibility regulations.
-
OMC failing to implement inspection system on motor carriers
from Mexico. (44% of these trucks were removed from service
due to safety violations)
-
OMC proposing to eliminate the prohibition against televisions
in truck cabs.
